PRAYER: Contempt Petition filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 to punish the 1-3 respondents herein for contempt for willfully disobeying the order of this Hon'ble Court dated 29.01.2024 made in W.P.No.21877 of 2023 by appreciating the above stated facts and circumstances.

Mr.U.Baranidharan, learned Additional Government Pleader for the

respondents would state that the Academic Council meeting will be convened by end of July, 2024 and if the petitioner is found eligible to benefit of notification, he will be permitted to participate in the upcoming semester. He further submits that the classes for 5^th semester will start from 01.08.2024 and the 8^th semester from 20.01.2025.

In this regard, he files an additional affidavit dated 06.07.2024,

wherein at paragraph Nos.4 to 6, they state as follows:

4. I submit that the classes for 5^th semester starts for 01.08.2024 and for 8^th semester starts from 20.01.2025.

5. I submit that due to non-completion of 5^th semester by the petitioner, a proposal to evaluate the petitioner's eligibility under the provisions of the notification dated 20.09.2023 will be submitted for consideration at the ensuing Academic Council meeting scheduled for by the end of July 2024. It is noted that

the Academic Council convenes annually, with the most recent session held on July 27, 2023.

6. I state that if the petitioner is found eligible by the

academic council to benefit from the notification, he will be permitted to participate in the upcoming semester.'

In light of the above, nothing further survives in this Contempt Petition

and the same is closed. Needless to state that once the Academic Council convenes and take a decision, the same will be communicated to the petitioner. No costs.
