Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to settle the arrears of Dearness Allowance for the periods from January 2018 to March 2018 (3 months), July 2018 and August 2018 (2 months) and January 2019 to May 2019 (5 months) for total period of 10 months to a sum of Rs.27,000/- which were not settle till the date of retirement on 31.05.2019 along with belated payment interest at the rate of 6% per annum from the date of retirement till the date of payment.

The present writ petition has been filed by a Selection Grade Conductor seeking a Mandamus directing the respondents to settle the arrears of dearness allowance for the period from January 2018 to March 2018, July 2018 to August 2018 and January 2019 to May 2019 for a period of 10 months along with belated payment interest at the rate of 6% per annum from the date of his retirement till the date of the payment.

2. Admittedly, the petitioner has attained superannuation and the dearness allowance arrears has remained unpaid for more than three years. Therefore, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to disburse the terminal benefits along with interest at the rate of 6% per annum, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

3. With the above said observation, this writ petition stands disposed of.
