PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents 1 to 4 herein to pay the fair compensation under the Right to Fair compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act 2013 (Act 30/13) for the vacant lands in Survey No.249/2A, Plot No.381 (New), 37-D(Old), Velacherry Tambaram Main Road, Velacherry, Chennai – 600 042 in Village No.137, Mambalam Guindy Taluk, Chennai District to an extent of 12 ¼ cents acquired by the Highways (HW2) Department and for which lands possession was taken on 21.05.2005.

It is seen that this Writ Petition was already dismissed for non-

prosecution on 08.02.2018 and thereafter, this Writ Petition was restored vide order dated 22.03.2018 in W.M.P.No.7094 of 2018 in W.P.No.29216 of 2017.

Thereafter, when the matter came up before this Court on 24.11.2023, there was no representation for the petitioners and this Court directed the Registry to list the matter under the caption “for dismissal” on 11.12.2023.

Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, it is seen that

the following endorsement has been made by the Registry in the notice paper dated 08.12.2023 :-
