The Writ Petition has been filed directing the respondent to grant

permission and police protection to conduct the cultural event viz., Adal Padal (Song and Dance) program to be held on 05.02.2023 at 06.00 PM onwards in connection with the temple festival of Arulmigu Sri Mariammn Temple, 15^th Ward, Man Ottan Street, Sentharapatti Town, Gengavalli Talu,

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that in order to conduct cultural programme on 05.02.2023, from 6.00 PM to 11.00 PM , in the event of Arulmigu Sri Mariammn Temple, 15^th Ward, Man Ottan Street, Sentharapatti Town, Gengavalli Taluk, Salem District, the petitioner has sent a representation, dated 28.01.2023 to the respondent. But, the same has not been considered so far. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), appearing for the respondent submitted that the respondent police has received the representation of the petitioner and the same is pending for consideration.

It is brought to the notice of this Court that the Director General

of Police, Tamil Nadu, Chennai, had issued a circular memorandum in Rc.007301/Genl.I(1)/2019, dated 09.04.2019, along with instructions to the Inspectors of Police throughout Tamil Nadu for consideration of applications seeking permission for conducting cultural programme. Therefore, in view of the detailed circular and guidelines issued by the Director General of Police, the respondent police is hereby directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 28.01.2023 and pass suitable orders based on the above said circular.

With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
