The petitioner is a victim of a road accident and seeks an exgratia payment as per the scheme provided out of the Chief Ministers Relief Fund.

2.Ms.N.Senthil Selvi, learned Government Advocate appeared on behalf of the respondents 1, 3 and 4. Mr.N.Muthuvel, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appeared appeared on behalf of the respondents 2 and 5.

3.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1, 3 and 4 made a submission that due to Covid-19 situation, some of the

cases could not be attended in time and that it will be disbursed shortly.

4.The said statement of the learned counsel is recorded.

5.This court now merely requires, the first respondent to disburse the exgratia payment for the road accident victim to be made out of the Chief Minister's Relief Fund as expeditiously as possible.

6.Since this court is informed nearly 395 persons in Salem District require to be paid this exgratia payment, the District Administration is instructed to approach the Government for requisite sanction for allocation for disbursement to these accident victims, for if this exgratia payment is not made within a short period, it looses its relevance to the victim of the accident.

7.Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
