COMMON ORDER

Though the above writ petitions were listed as different matters in the

cause list, since the issue involved in both the writ petitions being one and the same, with the consent of the learned counsel appearing for both sides, these writ petitions were heard together and disposed of by this common order.

The case of the petitioner is that, the respondents were appointed as

Video Editor and Associate Producer in the television division of the Petitioner Management vide appointment letters dated 01.04.2018 and 28.06.2013 with I.D.Nos.C1169 and C0751 and their CTC were fixed at Rs.4,07,400/- and Rs.4,38,720/- per annum respectively. While so, the programme in which the respondents were working came to an end, thereafter, by giving one month notice as per agreement, their services were terminated. Challenging the same, the respondents have raised industrial disputes before the Labour Court in O.P.Nos.70 and 71 of 2021 and the Labour Court passed award for reinstatement with six months back wages to the respondents. Challenging the same, the above writ petitions have been filed before this Court.

When the matters are taken up for hearing today, the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the respondents fairly submitted that, the issue

petitioner Management has agreed to pay a sum of Rs.6,00,000/- to V.John, who is the respondent in W.P.No.1928 of 2023 and Rs.8,50,000/- to

S.Senthilkumar, who is the respondent in W.P.No.3579 of 2023, as one time settlement in addition to Gratuity and Provident Fund.

4. In view of the above settlement arrived between the parties, these writ petitions are disposed of with the following terms :-

(i) the petitioner Management is directed to pay a sum of Rs.6,00,000/- (Rupees Six Lakhs only) to V.John/respondent in W.P.No.1928 of 2023 and Rs.8,50,000/- (Rupees Eight Lakhs Fifty Thousand only) to S.Senthilkumar/respondent in W.P.No.3579 of 2023, within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order;

(ii) The respondents are directed not to post any adverse remarks against the petitioner Management in the social media.

5. With the above directions, these Writ Petitions are disposed of. No

costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
