This writ petition was filed for the issue of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 04.05.2023 and to take action.

2.The grievance expressed by the petitioner was that a old Temple was demolished without obtaining any permission and the idols and other valuables are being taken away.

3.When the matter came up for hearing on 18.05.2023, this Court passed the following order.

“The 2^nd respondent may file a status report after inspecting the premises where the temple is located namely Pillayar temple at Samalapuram, Tiruppur District and file a report whether the temple is still in existence and whether the idols in the temple are still available. Such report to be filed by the Tahsildar after making

5.It is clear from the above that the subject Temple became old and dilapidated

and hence steps were taken to demolish the same and to construct a new Temple. That apart, the idols that were taken out of the Temple has been kept in a safe place and it will be placed back at the time of the consecration of the new Temple. Thus, the apprehension raised by the petitioner has been sufficiently addressed.
