The petitioner, claiming to be a Trust, seeks a mandamus directing the respondents, being the authorities of the officials of the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB/Board) to consider her representation dated 30.03.2023 for cancellation of the old tax card.

The request of the petitioner appears to emanate from the fact that the petitioner has changed name of the Trust and hence request new assessment card to be issued though in the changed / amended name.

Dr.N.Paul Sunder Singh, learned Standing Counsel, who appears for the respondents, on instructions, states that representation dated 30.03.2023 has indeed been received by the respondents. He would also express no objection for a direction to the appropriate respondent to consider the same and pass orders though in accordance with the prevailing rules and regulations.

Thus, mandamus is issued to R3 being the Area
