When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents submitted that the direction issued by this court in paragraph 9 of the order dated 13.02.2023 passed in W.P.No.3972 of 2023 has been strictly complied with. To substantiate the same, all the relevant materials were placed before this court.

It is seen that there is a total of 5578 vacancies for the post of Salesman and 925 vacancies for the post of packers and out of that, the first preference has been given to the existing salesman/packers who have been promoted and accordingly, 499 persons have been promoted as Salesman and 491 persons have been promoted as Packers. That leaves a balance of 5591 vacancies for the post of salesmen and 169 vacancies for the post of packers.

The learned Special Government Pleader submitted that, till now the selection has been completed for 22 Districts and the results are to be declared for the remaining 16 Districts. On completion of this process, the other vacancies are to be filled up through direct recruitment.
