This Writ Petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the first respondent to renew the passport based on the petitioner's application dated 27.12.2021.

2. The petitioner seeks for renewal of his passport under the aforementioned application. The first respondent has not renewed the passport on the ground that a charge sheet has been filed in C.C.No.300 of 2021, which is pending on the file of the Judicial Magistrate I, Nagercoil against the petitioner.

3. It is settled law that once charge sheet is filed, the petitioner will have to approach the concerned Magistrate Court seeking permission to get a passport. Learned Counsel for the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ petitioner is also agreeable to the same.

4. This Writ Petition is disposed of, by directing the petitioner to approach the Judicial Magistrate I, Nagercoil, seeking permission for the petitioner to renew his passport. The said Court on receipt of an application from the petitioner shall pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four [4] weeks from the date of receipt of the application from the petitioner seeking permission. There shall be no order as to costs.
