Prayer: Writ petition filed under Section 226 of the Constitution of India seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent herein to consider petitioner's representation dated 22/2/2021 claiming the death benefits of petitioner's deceased wife R.D.Senthamizhselvi, who worked as Assistant Professor in the 2nd respondent.

By consent of both parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
The petitioner's wife namely R.D.Senthamizhselvi worked as Assistant Professor in the department of Philosophy Religion & Culture at Poompuhar College and on 23.04.2020, his wife died due to lung cancer. Therefore, he made a representation to the 1st respondent claiming the death benefits to the petitioner being the legal heir of the deceased. But, the same has not been considered till date. Hence, this writ petition filed.
