The Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the 1st respondent to register the complaint dated 17.06.2021 in a time bound and a seamless manner without any further delay.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's mother S.Vijayalakshmi was done to death by the niece of the petitioner and the lover of such niece viz., Mr.Prabhu who is history sheeter rowdy. He would further submit that the petitioner's mother was a wealthy person and she had rented out several houses and had been getting a rental income of Rs.3,00,000 per month. He would also submit that in order to get rid of the mother, the petitioner's niece pooja and her

lover had murdered the petitioner's mother and even without informing the petitioner, the body was cremated and suspecting that the said pooja and her lover would have committed the murder, the petitioner had given a complaint to the respondent, since no case had been registered, the present petition has been filed seeking to register a complaint dated 17.06.2021 and to conduct investigation in a time bound and seamless manner.

Learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that based on the complaint of the petitioner, the case in Crime No.61 of 2022 had been registered for offence under Sections 174 of Cr.P.C and 201 of IPC. He would further submit that the petitioner was aware of the death of her mother and only in her presence, the body was cremated, however, subsequently, the petitioner had made certain allegations even after registration of the complaint and the respondent had conducted investigation based on the lines of the complaint given by the petitioner. He would also submit that the respondents have also gathered certain information and the investigation is going on in a proper manner and a case had also been altered to under Section 174 Cr.P.C and 201 of IPC. He would submit that in respect of screening of certain evidence, investigation is now being done by the officer of a rank of Inspector of Police and it is going on properly.

In view of the above and recording the submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Criminal Original Petition stands closed. However, a direction is issued to the respondent police to complete the investigation as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of 6 months from a date of receipt of a copy of this order.
