The petitioner canvasses a grievance with regard to the accumulation of mud in ponds and other water bodies at Survey Nos.1 to 503 in Narasingapuram Village, Chetput Panchayat Union, Chetput Taluk, Thiruvannamalai District.

The writ petitioner asserts that the accumulation of mud in the water bodies is causing considerable hardship to all the residents of Narasingapuram Village. In spite of submitting a representation on 13.05.2019, the respondents have failed to take action and not even 1% of the accumulated mud has been removed.

Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, learned State Government Pleader appears on behalf of all the respondents and submits that respondents 2 and 3 would be the appropriate authorities to take action on the petitioner's representation.

In the aforesaid facts and circumstances, without going into the merits of the matter, the petitioner is permitted to submit a fresh representation to respondents 2 and 3 within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Upon receipt thereof, the respondents 2 and 3 are directed to consider such representation and dispose of the same by a reasoned order within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of the representation from the petitioner.

W.P.No.22256 of 2019 is disposed on the above terms. There will be no order as to costs.
