The Official Liquidator has filed the present application for permission to engage the services of a Chartered Accountant from the panel maintained by the Official Liquidator and for incidental directions in such regard.

Learned Deputy Official Liquidator submits that upon perusal of the balance sheets of the company in provisional liquidation, the Official Liquidator was able to discern, prima facie, evidence of diversion of assets to other companies under the same management. In order to establish such diversion, it is submitted that the services of a Chartered Accountant is necessary.

3. Upon considering the submissions of the Deputy Official

Liquidator and on examining the report dated 27.08.2021, I find that a case

the investments referred to in the table at paragraph 8 of the report, all of which appear to have been made before the date of the winding up order.

Accordingly, Company Application No. 284 of 2021 is allowed by permitting the Official Liquidator to engage the services of a Chartered Accountant to verify the records of the company in provisional liquidation. For such purpose, the Official Liquidator is permitted to call for quotations from the panel of Chartered Accountants maintained by the office of the Official Liquidator and engage the services of the Chartered Accountant, who is willing to provide services at the lowest cost.
