It is seen from the report of the Principal District Judge,
Chengalpattu that the delay in disposing of the Criminal Appeal has occasioned only due to the various applications filed by the Appellants. The Appellate Court is not able to proceed further with the hearing in the Criminal Appeal only due to the pendency of these applications. The explanation given by the Principal District Judge, Chengalpattu is accepted. There shall be a direction to the Principal District Judge, Chengalpattu, to dispose of the applications filed in the Appeal within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order and the Criminal Appeal shall be disposed of within a period of three months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
