Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.O.Selvam, learned Government Advocate for the respondents.

The petitioner has filed the above Writ Petition to issue a writ of mandamus to direct the 1st respondent to grant transfer application for transfer of permit in respect of the Stage Carriage bearing Registration No.TN/31/ H-8688 having permit to ply on the town service route Manjakuppam to Thaikkalthonithuri via. Head Post Office, New Cinema, Cuddalore N.T. Bus Stand etc. places from the name of the

deceased permit holder Tmt.Sornam Ammal, his mother, in his name.

Mrs.Radha Gopalan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it would be suffice to direct the 1^st respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 10.03.2016 for the transfer of permit and pass orders in accordance with law.

Mr.O.Selvam, learned Government Advocate, appearing for the respondents submitted that the 1^st respondent may be directed to consider the petitioner's application dated 10.03.2016 and pass orders in accordance with law, within four weeks' time.

Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, taking into consideration the limited prayer now sought for by the learned counsel for the petitioner, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the 1^st respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 10.03.2016 and pass orders in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner.

With this observation, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
