The petitioners are teachers of Thiruvalluvar Middle School. It is the grievance of the petitioners that the 5th respondent failed to submit proposal for the purpose of sanctioning annual increment and other statutory benefits. The petitioners, therefore submitted a common representation on 18.02.2014 requesting the third respondent to intervene in the matter and to pay them statutory benefits. Since there was no action taken by the third respondent pursuant to the said representation, the petitioners are before this Court.

The 4th respondent filed a counter affidavit, wherein, it was stated that department would take appropriate action against 5th respondent. The 4th respondent further stated that he would convene a Peace Committee Meeting and try to solve the issue.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Additional Government Pleader on behalf of respondents 1 to 4. There is no appearance on behalf of 5th respondent.

The petitioners are given liberty to submit individual representations to the third respondent for payment of statutory benefits. In case of giving such representations, the third respondent is directed to call for required particulars from the 5th respondent. The 5th respondent is bound to give relevant particulars to the third respondent immediately.

The third respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the matter within a period of two months from the date of receipt of representations.

The writ petitions are disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
