Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Addl. Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

It is the case of the petitioner that his wife and daughter went missing on 30.7.2014 in connection with which a case in Crime No.88/2014 for 'Woman Missing' has been registered by the Sub Inspector of Police, Kattur Police Station on 6.8.14.

Today, the respondent police have filed a status report detailing the steps that have been taken by the police to secure the detenue. From the report it is evident that there exists some marital discord between the petitioner and the detenue, which is evident from the conduct of the detenue's association with other persons using various SIM cards. The report further reveals that the detenue had gone out of the house on her own volition for reasons best known to her consequent to the marital discord. It is further evident from the petition that there is no illegal detention of the detenue by any specific person.

In such view of the matter, this petition is closed with a direction to the respondent police to proceed with the investigation diligently and keep the petitioner informed about the development/break through in the case.
