ORDER : The Court Made the following order :-

The petitioner, who is arrayed as accused in Crime No.8 of 2015 for the offences punishable under Sections 7 and 13(i)(d) r/w 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 on the file of the respondent Police, was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 22.09.2015. He seeks bail.

2.According to the de facto complainant viz., Mr.N.Lingaraj that he approached the first accused Periyapiratti for payment of Property tax of his father – in – law Natarajan for the Door No. 19, Kottavilai Puthumanai, Udankudi, she demanded Rs.1,200/- as bribe for issuing certificate and when he approached the second accused, he also directed him to talk to the first accused Periyapratti.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that one Joyce, who was working in the Panchayat Office, demanded bribe from the de facto complainant for issuing Tax receipt and on that date, the de facto complainant has met the said Joyce and as per his direction, he met the 1^st accused and alleged to have paid the amount.

4.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is a lady and she was working as Bill Collector and she did not demand any money from the de-fact complainant.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ respondent submitted that the petitioner was arrested on 22.09.2015 and amount of Rs.1000/- was also recovered from the petitioner.

5.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is inclined to grant bail to the petitioner with certain conditions. Accordingly, the petitioner is ordered to be released on bail on executing a bond for a sum of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) with two sureties each for a like sum to the satisfaction of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Thoothukudi, and on further condition that the petitioner shall appear before the respondent police daily at 10.00 a.m., until further orders.
