This case came up for settlement before the Lok Adalat. Both the parties are present. The learned counsel for the revision petitioner, Mr. Premkumar and the learned counsel for the respondent Mr.N. Nithianandam are present. After mutual discussion, negotiation, mediation and conciliation between both parties, they arrived at a compromise to settle the matter as follows:

TERMS OF SETTLEMENT

The Revistion Petitioner was convicted by the Trial Court and the conviction and sentence was confirmed by the Appellate Court. Pending revision, the parties have entered into a compromise and certain amount has been paid already by the revision petitioner to the defacto complainant.

Today, the Defacto complainant and the accused are present. A further compromise was initiated over and above the amount already paid to the complainant.

The revision petitioner agrees to pay a sum of Rs.15,000/(Rupees fifteen thousand only) on or before 07.09.2015 towards the balance of the compensation. On payment, the conviction and sentence passed on the revision petitioner shall stand set aside and he shall be acquitted.

If such payment is not made within that particular date, the matter will be remitted back to Court for passing orders on merits.

For reporting compliance, Post on 7.9.2015.

The criminal revision case is disposed of accordingly.

This Case having been posted on Tuesday, the Eighth Day of September 2015 before the Lok Adalat, under the Caption "For Reporting Compliance" pursuant to the award of the Forum dated 08.08.2015 and made herein, and in the presence of the above said Advocates, the Forum passed the following order:-

It is represented by the learned counsel for the petitioner that in pursuance of the award passed on 08.08.2015 before the Mega Lok Adalat, this case is coming up before this forum for reporting compliance.

The learned counsel appearing for the revision petitioner/accused files a memo/receipt showing the payment made to the complainant.

In view of the compliance made, the case is closed. In view of the fact, the matter has been completely settled and the accused is entitled for the benefit.

The Office is directed to give a copy of the order to the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as directed to send a copy of the order to the learned Judicial Magistrate No.1, Ponneri for releasing the accused/petitioner/Nandagopal from any other liability.

In view of the compliance by the accused, the matter is settled. The accused is acquitted.
