Shri Amit Mishra, learned counsel for petitioner.

Shri Manoj Kushwaha, learned Panel Lawyer for respondent/State. Petitioner has filed an application under Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005 for grant of licence. Application of petitioner for grant of licence is pending before Controlling Authority for consideration. It is submitted that no order has been passed on application of petitioner and his application is pending since 24.06.2020.

Counsel appearing for petitioner made a request that respondent No.2 be directed to consider his application and take a decision on it. It is also submitted by counsel appearing for petitioner that application ought to have been considered and decided within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt of application as provided in Section 7 sub-section (4) of Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005.

Panel Lawyer appearing for State submitted that application filed by petitioner for grant of licence shall be considered and decided by competent authority as per law.

Considering the aforesaid facts and circumstances of the case, writ petition filed by petitioner is disposed of with direction to respondent No2/Controlling Authority to consider and decide the application of petitioner within a period of 45 days from the date of receipt of certified copy of the order passed today.

No opinion is expressed on the merits of the case.

With the aforesaid direction, writ petition is disposed of.
