(2) Manrgenrent Seats: Pursuant to the Judgement of the Hon'ble supreme court the State Govemments are required to prescribe a certain percentage of seats, rvhich can be resetved for adrnission by the nranagenlellt of teclurical institutiols. The prescription of percentage has to be nrade by the State Govt. irr accordance rvith the local Iteeds and different percentage can be fixed for nrinority and non -minority technical institutions. The Hon'ble Supreme Court held that a Private unaided hstirution will have right to constitute its orvn Governing Body, for which qualifications may be prescribed by the State or the concerned University. :It has been decided that while AICTE rvil l not insist of any nomination in the Governing Body of Private unaided Institutions, the Affiliating University / State Government shall impose minimum condition of affiliation, such fls, prescription of qualification of governing body members, in order to'ensure academic excellence. The conditions so imposed will be subjected to scrutiny by AICTE, wherever necessary, to .niut. that the same are not unreaso.able reshictions. It shall be desirable for the private unaided instirutes to induct atleast 507o of rnembers of the Governing Body drawtt fi'om renorvned academia, ' academic aclministrators, subject field expetts arid a professionals frorn 'i ilrdushy in order to seek their innovative ideas fori continuous improvem'ent in the delivery of teaching learning process, matching best practice elsewhere and achieve excelleuce.
