Establishment of Gram Nyayalaya Sankh, District Sangli

NOTIFICATION No. Gramanya 2020/CR 111/D-XII.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Gram Nyayalaya Act, 2008, the Government, of Maharashtra after consultation with the High Court of Judicature at Bombay hereby directs that, with effect from the 30th July,2023,— (@) there shall be Gram Nyayalaya for the Village Panchayat at the intermediate level, i.e. Gram Panchayat Sankh, sub-ordinate to the District Court of Sangli, in Sangli District ; (b) the said Court shall be presided over by the Civil Judge (Junior Division) and Judicial Magistrate (First Class), Jath as a Nyayadhikari (till regular appointments are made), who shall periodically visit the villages falling under his jurisdiction, and conduct trial and proceedings at any place which he considers to be in close proximity to the place where parties ordinarily reside in terms of section 9 of the Gram Nyayalaya Act, 2008, after consulation with the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Sangli ; (८) the Civil Judge (Junior Division) Jath 85 a Nyayadhikari shall have jurisdiction to try all suits and proceedings of a civil nature falling under the classes of disputes specified in Part I of the Second Schedule and try all classes of claims and disputes which may be notified by the Central Government under sub-section (1) of section 14 and by the State Government under sub-section (3) of section 14 of the Gram Nyayalaya Act, 2008, the Judicial Magistrate (First Class) Jath as a Nyayadhikari may take cognizance of an offence on a complaint or on a police report and shall try all offences specified in part I of the First Schedule and try all offences and grant relief, if any, specified under enactments included in Part 11 of that schedule of the Gram Nyayalaya Act, 2008 and shall 8150 try all such offence or grant such relief under the State Acts which may be notified by the State Government under sub-section (3) of Section 14. (d) the local limits of the ordinary jurisdiction of Nyayadhikari Sankh shall comprise of all the village Panchayat at the intermediate level, i.e. Village Panchayat area of Sankh.
