Action under Section 8(1)(b) against Shri Amit Kohli, absconders

(Hie (Baxette of «3ndia EXTRAORDINARY PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 681] NEW DELHI, THURSDAY, APRIL 30, 2009/VAISAKHA 10, 1931 1$ ferft, 30 3T&rT, 2009 MINISTRY OF FINANCE (Department of Revenue) ORDER New Delhi, the 30th April, 2009 - S.0.1074(E).—Whereas the Joint Secretary to the Government of India specially empowered under sub­ section (1) of Section 3 of the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1988 issued Order F.No. 1/1/2009-PITNDPS, dated 25-2-2009 under the said sub-section directing that Shri Amit Kohli S/o Shri Tilak Raj Kohli, resident of Krishna Nagar, Delhi be detained and kept in custody in the Central Jail, Tihar, New Delhi with a view to preventing him from engaging in dealing in narcotic drugs and organizing drug trafficking activities. 2. Whereas the Central Government has reason to believe that the aforesaid person has absconded himself so that the order cannot be executed. 3. Now, therefore, in exercise of powers conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (1) of Section 8 of the said Act, the Central Government hereby directs the aforesaid person to appear before Shri Ajay Kumar, Superintendent, Delhi Zonal Unit, West Block-I, Wing-VII, R.K. Puram, New Delhi within 10 days of the publication of this order in the Official Gazette. NITA GUPTA, Under Secy.
