Amendment Notification Declaring Eco Sensitive Zone S.O. No.1962(E) around Ramnabagan Wildlife Sanctuary, West Bengal

EXTRAORDINARY PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 1746] NEW DELHI, THURSDAY, JUNE 18, 2020/JYAISHTHA 28, 1942 MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 18th June, 2020 S.O. 1962(E).—WHEREAS, vide notification number 3151 (E) dated the 29 th August, 2019 under sub- section (1) and clauses (v) and (xiv) of sub-section (2) and sub-section (3) of Section 3 of the Environment (Protection) Act 1986 (29 of 1986) read with sub-rule (3) of rule 5 of the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, (hereinafter referred as the said notification) the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change notified an area to an extent of 100 meters uniform around the boundary of Ramnabagan Wildlife Sanctuary in the State of West Bengal as the Eco-sensitive Zone; AND WHEREAS, the Government of West Bengal vide letter no. C-65013/07/2019 dated the th November, 2019 requested Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for certain amendments in the said notification; AND WHEREAS, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has examined the request of the Government of West Bengal and decided to amend the said notification; NOW THEREFORE, in exercise of powers conferred by the sub-section (1) and clause (v) of sub- section (2) of section 3 of Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 read with sub-rule (4) of Rule 5 of Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment to the said notification, namely: - In the said notification, in paragraph number 5 relating to the Monitoring Committee in serial number (ii), after the words “wildlife warden” the word “or his representation” shall be inserted.
