Amendment Notification Declaring Eco Sensitive Zone, S.O. No. 4246(E) around Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary, Sikkim

EXTRAORDINARY PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 4076] NEW DELHI, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2023/ ASVINA 5, 1945 MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT, FORESTS AND CLIMATE CHANGE NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 26th September, 2023 S.O. 4246(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section(1), clause (v) and clause (xiv) of sub- section (2) and sub-section (3) of section 3 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986), read with sub-rule (4) of rule 5 of the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate change, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, section 3, sub-section(ii), vide S.O. number 2170 (E), dated the 27th August, 2014, namely :- In the said notification,- (i) in paragraph 2, in sub-paragraph (1), for the portion beginning with the words “The State Government shall” and ending with the words “the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate change” the following shall be substituted, namely:- “The State Government shall, within a period of two years with effect from 26.09.2023 in accordance with this notification prepare a Zonal Master Plan for the purpose of the Eco-sensitive Zone”; (ii) in paragraph 3, in sub-paragraph (10) the words “approved by the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change”, shall be omitted.
