NOTIFICATION MAHARASHTRA CIVIL COURT ACT. No. SANKIRNA 0816/483/C.R.114/DESK-11.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 14 and 19 of the Maharashtra Civil Courts Act (XIV of 1869) and of all other powers enabling it in this behalf, and in partial modification of all other earlier notifications issued in this behalf, in so far as they relate to the revenue talukas of Panvel, Uran, Khalapur and Karjat in Raigad District, the Government of Maharashtra, hereby directs that, with effect from the 27th July, 2019. (a) there shall be a Court of District Judge at Panvel and the said Court shall be presided over by the District Judge-1, Panvel; (b) the local limits of the ordinary jurisdiction of the said Court shall be co-extensive with and shall cover the areas comprising the revenue talukas of Panvel, Uran, Khalapur and Karjat in Raigad District; (c) all the powers of the Principal District Judge, Raigad-Alibag in respect of the revenue talukas of Panvel, Uran, Khalapur and Karjat in Raigad District shall vest in the said District Judge-1, Panvel, except those vested in the Principal District Judge under section 9 of the said Act and except his power to assign to the District Judges at Panvel or withdraw unto himself or to assign to another Court of competent jurisdiction, such matters as he thinks fit.
