Creation of Sessions sub-division for the revenue tehsils of Wai in Khandala and Mahabaleshwar in Satara District and establishes Court of Sessions at Wai to be presided over by the Additional Sessions Judge, for trial of cases arising within the limits of the said Sessions sub-division.

No. Nyayastha-1221/601/C.R.149/DESK-11.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 7 read with section 9 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974), in its application to the State of Maharashtra, and of all other powers enabling it in this behalf, and in partial modification of all earlier notifications issued in that behalf, in so far as they relate to the revenue tehsils of Wai, Khandala and Mahabaleshwar in Satara District, the Government of Maharashtra, after consultation with the High Court of Judicature at Bombay, hereby,with effect from 14th January, 2023, creates a Sessions sub-division for the revenue tehsils of Wai, Khandala and Mahabaleshwar in Satara District and establishes Court of Sessions at Wai to be presided over by the Additional Sessions Judge, for trial of cases arising within the limits of the said Sessions sub- division. The Sessions Judge, Satara, shall also be the Sessions Judge for the Sessions sub-division at Wai, and shall have the powers to withdraw unto himself or assign to any other Court of competent jurisdiction, the cases from the said Sessions sub-division, or to assign unto the Additional Sessions Judge at Wai, any such cases as he thinks fit.
