Notification issued u/s 7(1) (b) of COFEPOSA Act against Mr. Li Wen Tsung

EXTRAORDINARY PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 3622] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY, AUGUST 12, 2022/SHRAVANA 21, 1944 MINISTRY OF FINANCE (Department of Revenue) (Central Economic Intelligence Bureau) (COFEPOSA WING) ORDER New Delhi, the 12th August, 2022 S.O. 3795(E).—Whereas the Joint Secretary to the Government of India, specially empowered under sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Conservation of Foreign Exchange and Prevention of Smuggling Activities Act, 1974 (52 of 1974) issued Order No. PD-12001/05/2022-COFEPOSA dated 01.02.2022 under the said sub-section directing that Li Wen Tsung, R/o (i) Room No.401, 4 th Floor, House No. 345 P, Sector-42, Gurugram, Haryana & (ii) House No. Alley Lane 17, Tianlu, Cheng, Tucheng, District Xinbei, Taipei (Taiwan) be detained and kept in Tihar Central Jail, New Delhi with a view to prevent him from smuggling of goods, abetting the smuggling of goods and engaging in transporting or concealing or keeping smuggled goods in future. 2. Whereas the Central Government has reasons to believe that the aforesaid person has absconded or has been concealing himself so that the Order cannot be executed. 3. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (1) of Section 7 of the said Act, the Central Government hereby directs the aforesaid person to appear before the Commissioner of Police, Gurugram, Government of Haryana within 7 days of the publication of this Order in the Official Gazette.
