In section 1,— (i) for sub-section (2), namely:— "(2) It extends to the whole of the Union terr i tory of Delhi."; (ii) sub-section (3) shall be omitted. 2. Sections 2 and 4 shall be omitted. 3. In section 3, for the words "the said Act", the words and brackets "the Punjab Excise Act as in force in the Union terr i tory of Delhi (hereinafter refer red to as the said Ac t ) " shall be substituted. 4. In section 7, clause (i) shall be omitted. ANNEXURE THE PUNJAB EXCISE (EAST PUNJAB AMENDMENT) ACT, 1949 AS EXTENDED TO THE UNION TERRITORY OF DELHI East Punjab Act No. XII of 1,949 An Act further to amend the Punjab Excise Act (I of 1914). It is hereby enacted as follow:— 1. Short title, extent and commencement.—(1) This Act may be called the Punjab Excise (East Punjab Amendment) Act, 1949. (2) It extends to the whole of the Union terr i tory of Delhi. (3) Omitted. 2. Amendment of section 24 of the Punjab Excise Act (I of 1914).—Omitted 3. Amendment of section 27 of the Punjab Excise Act (I of 1914).—In sub-sec tion (1) of section 27 of the Punjab Excise Act as in force in the Union territory of Delhi (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) , for the words "any person" the words "any man not below the age of twenty-five years", shall be substituted. 4. Amendment of section 29 of tine Punjab Excise Act (I of 1914).—Omitted. 5. Amendment of section 3ft of the Punjab Excise Act (I of 1914).—For sec tion 30 of the said Act, the following shall be substituted:— Prohibition of employment of men "30. No person who is licensed tc under the age of 25 years and of sell any liquor ovi intoxicating women. drug for consumption on his premises shall, during the houra in which such premises are kept open for business, employ or permit to be employed, eithel with or without remuneration, •"- any man under the age of 25 years or any woman in any part . . . . . , .. of such premises in which such liquor or intoxicating d rug is-con sumed by the public." 6. Ameadment of section 61 of the Punjab Excise Act (I of 1944).—Jrf sub section (1) of section 61 of the said Act, for the words "two years", the word "three years" shall be substituted. 7. Amendment of section 62 of the Punjab Excise Act (I of 1914) In see-i tion 62 of the said Act,— (i) Omitted. (ii) in clause (b) the words "child under the age of sixteen years" the words man under the age of twenty-five years" shall be substituted.
