F.N o. 4S-3(1)200SfNCTE (N&S) .....:....Regulationslaying down the procedure for grant of recognition along with NomlS and Standards for various teacher training courses were promulgated by the National Council for Teacher Educatioil ;'ide NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2007, dated 27th November, 2007 notified on 10th December, .2007. The matter regarding cut off date prescribed in the 'Clause5(5) of these Regulations has further been .reconsidered and it was decided to amend the cut off datefor grant of recognition/permission to teacher education institution'sfor the cnrrent Accordingly, in modification of the above Regulations and in exercise of the powers conferred under Sec:ion 32(2) of the NCTE Act, 1993, the NCTE hereby makes the following Regulations: .. 1. Short title and commencement (I) These Regulations may be called the National Council forTeacher Education (Recognition Nomls andProcedure) (2) They shall come into force \V.e.r. the date of their publication in:the Official Gazette. 2. Definitions In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires, all the words and expressions used herein and defined in the National Council for Teacher Education Act, 1993 (73 of 1993) shall have the same meaning respectively assigned to them in the said Act. , 3. Applicability These regulations shall be applicable to all matters relating to teacher education programmes covering norms, standards and procedures for recognition of institutions, commencement of new programmes and add ition (0 sanctioned intake in existing programmes and other matters incidental thereto. Thcse amended regulations shall be applicable only for grant of recognitionJpennission to start teacher-training course for the current academic session i.e. 2009-20 I0 and not for any subsequent year. from the next academic session i.e. 20 I0-20 11, the cut off date mentioned in clause 5(5) of the Regulations shall strictly be enforced.
