Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti Thane Administrator Appointed

RNI No. MAHBIL /2009/31748 RURAL DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT, Bandhkam Bhavan, 25, Marzban Path, Fort, Mumbai 400 001, dated 4th January 2023 Order MAHARASHTRA ZILLA PARISHADS AND PANCHAYAT SAMITI ACT, 1961. No.ZPA-2023/C.R.1/PR-1.—Whereas, the term of Thane Zilla Parishad will expire on the 14th January 2023 and that of Panchayat Samiti Shahapur, Murbad, Kalyan, Bhivandi and Ambarnath within Thane Zilla Parishad (hereinafter referred to as “the said Panchayat Samitis”) is to expire on the 7th January 2023; And whereas, the office of the President, Vice-President and Chairman of Subjects Committees of Thane Zilla Parishad and Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the Committee of Sarpanchs of the said Panchayat Samitis will become vacant simultaneously; And whereas, the State Election Commission in its letter dated 4th February 2022, stated that, it is not possible to conduct the Election of the Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis within the stipulated time limit and requested the State Government to appoint the administrator on the said Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis; And as the State Election Commission has not declared the dates for the elections for Thane Zilla Parishads and the said Panchayat Samitis; Therefore, in exercise of powers conferred by sections 91B and 75B of the Maharashtra Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis Act, 1961 (Mah. V of 1962), the Government of Maharashtra hereby authorise Chief Executive Officer of Thane Zilla Parishad, to exercise all the powers and perform all the duties of the Zilla Parishad and also authorise the Block Development Officers of the respective Panchayat Samitis within Thane Zilla Parishad, to exercise all the powers and perform all the duties of the respective Panchayat Samitis till the election of president, vice-president, chairman of subject committees of Thane Zilla Parishad and Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the committee of Sarpanch of the the said Panchayat Samitis respectively.
