Notification Declaring Eco Sensitive Area S.O. No. 2346(E) Amendment in Environment Protect Act, 1986

EXTRAORDINARY PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 2182] NEW DELHI, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 16, 2021/JYAISHTHA 26, 1943 MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 16th June, 2021 S.O. 2346(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 6 and 25 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amendments in the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, namely: — 1. (1) These rules may be called the Environment (Protection) Amendment Rules, 2021. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, in rule 5, in sub-rule (3), in clause (d), for the proviso the following shall be substituted, namely:- “Provided that on account of COVID-19 pandemic, for the purpose of this clause, the period of validity of the notification expiring in the financial year 2020-2021 and 2021- 2022 shall be extended up to 31 st December, 2021 or six months from the end of the month when the relevant notification would have expired without any extension, whichever is later.”.
