Establishment of Additional District and Sessions Court at Aheri, District Gadchiroli

No. CRC 2017/CR 360(11)/Desk XIL.— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 7 read with section 9 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974), in its application to the State of Maharashtra, and of all other powers enabling it in this behalf; and in partial modification of all earlier notifications issued in this behalf, in so far as they relate to the revenue talukas of Aheri, Etapalli, Bhamragad, Sironcha and Mulchera in the Gadchiroli District, the Government of Mabharashtra, after consultation with the High Court of Judicature at Bombay, hereby, with effect from the 22nd July, 2023, creates a sessions sub-division for the revenue talukas of Aheri, Etapalli, Bhamragad, Sironcha and Mulchera in Gadchiroli District and establishes a Court of Sessions at Aheri to be presided over by the Additional Sessions Judge for trial of cases arising within the limits of the said Sessions sub-division. The Sessions Judge, Gadchiroli, shall also be the Sessions judge for the Session’s sub-division at Aheri and shall have the powers to withdraw unto himself or to assign to any other Court of competent jurisdiction, cases from the said Sessions sub-division, or to assign unto the Assistant or Additional Sessions Judge at Aheri, any such cases as he thinks fit.
