Order Maharashtra zilla parishads and panchayat samiti act, 1961. No. ZPA-2022/C.R.21/PR-1.— Whereas, the term of the 25 Zilla Parishads mentioned in Schedule “A” appended herewith (hereinafter referred to as “the said Zilla Parishads”) has expired on the 20th March, 2022 and the 283 Panchayat Samitis mentioned in Schedule “B” appended herewith within the said Zilla Parishads (hereinafter referred to as “the said Panchayat Samitis”) has expired on the 13th March, 2022 and the term of Panchayat Samiti, Dharni, Dist. Amravati has expired on 24th June, 2022 ; And whereas, the office of the President, Vice-President and Chairman of Subjects Committees of the said Zilla Parishads and Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the Committee of Sarpanchas of the said Panchayat Samitis has become vacant simultaneously ; And whereas, by order dated 13th July 2022 the Government of Maharashtra has authorized the Chief Executive Officers of the respective Zilla Parishad, to exercise all the powers and perform all the duties of the said Zilla Parishads and also authorized the Block Development Officers of the respective Panchayat Samitis within the said Zilla Parishads, to exercise all the powers and perform all the duties of the respective Panchayat Samitis for a period of 2 more months or till the election of president, vice-president, chairman of subject committees of the said Zilla Parishad and Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the committee of Sarpanch of the respective Panchayat Samitis within the said Zilla Parishads, whichever is earlier ; And the State Election Commission has not declared the dates for the elections for the said Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis therefore in exercise of powers conferred by sections 91B and 75B of the Maharashtra Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis Act, 1961 (Mah. V of 1962), the Government of Maharashtra hereby authorizes the Chief Executive Officers of the respective Zilla Parishad, to exercise all the powers and perform all the duties of the said Zilla Parishads and also authorizes the Block Development Officers of the respective Panchayat Samitis within the said Zilla Parishads, to exercise all the powers and perform all the duties of the respective Panchayat Samitis till the election of President, Vice-President, Chairman of subject committees of the said Zilla Parishad and Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the committee of Sarpanch of the respective Panchayat Samitis within the said Zilla Parishads.
