Amendment Declaring Notification Eco Sensitive Zone S.O. No. 6014(E) Mount Harriet National Park, Andaman and Nicobar

EXTRAORDINARY PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 5773] NEW DELHI, THURSDAY, DECEMBER 22, 2022/ PAUSA 1, 1944 MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 22nd December, 2022 S.O. 6014(E).—Whereas, by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change published in the Gazette of India vide number S.O.652 (E), dated the 1st February, 2019, the Central Government notified the Mount Harriet National Park Eco-sensitive Zone (hereinafter referred to as the said notification); AND WHEREAS, the Union territory Administration of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, vide its letter number CWLW/WL/31/38, dated the 7th April, 2022 has requested the Central Government for amendment in the Eco-sensitive Zone of Mount Harriet National Park pursuant to renaming of „Mount Harriet National Park‟ as AND WHEREAS, the Central Government have examined the request of the Union territory Administration of Andaman and Nicobar Islands; NOW THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section(1) and clause (v) and (xiv) of sub- section (2) and sub-section (3) of section 3 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986), read with sub-rule (4) of rule 5 of the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in the said notification, namely:— In the said notification, for the words “Mount Harriet”, wherever they occur, the words “Manipur Parvat” shall be respectively substituted.
