Short title and. commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the. Rajasthan — Prisons (Shortening of.Sentences) (Amendment) Rules, 2018.. eokates (2) They shall comeinto forceatonce, 2, Amendment of rule8.- In rule.8 of the Rajasthan Prisons (Shortening of Sentences) Rules, 2006,- (i)in clause (i) of sub-rule(2), for the existing expression “a minimumof4 years of remission in order tobe eligible for consideration;”, the expression“aminimum.of2years.and 6 months of. remission in order tobe eligible for consideration;” shall be substituied; — (ii) in clause (ii) of sub-rule(2), forthe existing expression “a minimumof4years ofremission in order to be eligible for.consideration.”, the expression “a minimumof2yearsand 6 months i a t o e consideration.” shall besubstituted; and (ii) the existing “Explanation” shall be deleted. of remission in order to be eligible — for _ [File no. 7(32)home-12/kara/2014] By Order andinthe nameofthe Governor, _— Deputy Secretaryto the Government.
