Establishment of Additional District and Sessions Court at Warud, District Amravati

LAW AND JUDICIARY DEPARTMENT Mantralaya, Madam Cama Marg, Hutatma Rajguru Chowk, Mumbai 400 032, dated the 26th October, 2023. NOTIFICATION (0098 oF CRIMINAL PROCEDURE, 1973. No. CRC 2021/CR 189(II)/Desk XII.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 7 read with section 9 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974), in its application to the State of Maharashtra, and of all other powers enabling it in this behalf ; and in partial modification of all earlier notifications issued in this behalf, in so far as they relate to the revenue Tahsils of Warud and Morshi in the Amravati District, the Government of Maharashtra, after consultation with the High Court of Judicature at Bombay, hereby creates, with effect from the 28th October 2023, the sessions division for the revenue Tahsils of Warud and Morshi in Amravati District, and establishes a Court of Sessions at Warud, to be presided over by the Additional Sessions Judge for trial of cases arising within the limits of the said sessions division. The Sessions Judge, Amravati shall also be the Sessions Judge for the Warud sessions division and shall have powers to withdraw unto himself or to assign to any other Court of competent jurisdiction, cases from the said sessions division, or to assign unto the Assistant or Additional Sessions Judge at Warud, any such cases as he thinks fit.
