State Committee on Dam Safety (SCDS) for the State of Punjab

(EXTRA), JUNE 1, 2022 (JYST 11, 1944 SAKA) 1307 EXTRAORDINARY Published by Authority CHANDIGARH, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 1, 2022 (JYAISTHA 11, 1944 SAKA) GOVERNMENT OF PUNJAB DEPARTMENT OF WATER RESOURCES (Project Branch) NOTIFICATION The13th May, 2022 No. E No. 276219-PJb/221.-The Governor of Punjab is pleased to constitute a State Committee on Dam Safety (SCDS) for the State of Punjab as per Chapter IV under section 11 of Dam Safety Act, 2021. The State Committee shall discharge such functions as specified in the third Schedule as may be necessary to prevent dam failure related disasters under this Act as per guidelines, standards and other directions on dam safety issued by the National Dam Safety Authority. Prof. S.K.Singh Professor Department of Civil Engineering, Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh 1) The tenure of the committee will be of three years from date of issue of notification. 2) The State Committee shall meet twice in a year and one meeting shall be held before the onset of the monsoon season. 3) The specialist members and other expert invitees who attend the meetings of the State Committee shall be paid such fees and allowances as may be prescribed by the State Government.
