Order Maharashtra Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis Act, 1961. No. ZPA-2025/C.R.02/PR-1.— Whereas, the term of the 06 Zilla Parishads mentioned in Schedule-A appended herewith, (hereinafter referred to as “the said Zilla Parishads”) will expire on 16th January 2025, 17th January 2025 and 17th February 2025 and the 44 Panchayat Samitis within the said Zilla Parishads mentioned in the Schedule-B appended herewith, (hereinafter referred to as “the said Panchayat Samitis”) will expire on 15th January 2025, 16th January 2025 and 14th February 2025; And whereas, the office of the President, Vice-president and Chairman of Subjects Committees of the said Zilla Parishads and Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the Committee of Sarpanchs of the said Panchayat Samitis will become vacant simultaneously ; And whereas, the State Election Commission in its letter dated 4th February 2022, and 18th December 2024 stated that, it is not possible to conduct the Elections of the Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis within the stipulated time limit and requested the State Government to appoint administrators on the said Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis. Now therefore, in exercise of power conferred by sections 91B and 75B of the Maharashtra Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti Act, 1961 (Mah.V of 1962), the Government of Maharashtra hereby authorizes the Chief Executive Officer, of the respective said Zilla Parishads, to exercise all the powers and perform all the duties of the said Zilla Parishads and also authorizes the Block Development Officer of the respective said Panchayat Samitis within the said Zilla Parishads, to exercise all the powers and perform all the duties of the respective Panchayat Samitis till the election of President, Vice-President, Chairman of Subject committees of the said Zilla Parishads and Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the Committees of Sarpanch of the respective Panchayat Samitis within the said Zilla Parishads.
