S.O. No. 3847(E) dated 08.12.2017- Reconstitution of Animal Welfare Board of India

EXTRAORDINARY PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 3375] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2017/ AGRAHAYANA 17, 1939 MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 8th December, 2017 S.O. 3847(E).— In continuation of notification number S.O. 729(E) dated 3 rd March, 2017 issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 and Section 5A of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 (59 of 1960), the Central Government hereby nominates following four persons as the Members of the Animal Welfare Board of India w.e.f. 06.12.2017, namely:— 1. Dr. Prakash Amte, Member under Section 5(1) (f) Director, Amte’s Animal Ark, Hemalkasa, Maharashtra 2. Shri S. P. Gupta, IAS (Retd.) Member under Section 5(1) (g) Founder’s Chairman, People’s Voice, Kamdhenu Gow Dham & Arogya Sansthan, Haryana 3. Shri Rakesh Gupta, Member under Section 5(1) (g) President, Gopal Gausadan, New Delhi 4. Ms. Anjali Gopalan, Member under Section 5(1) (g) Founder of animal sanctuary ‘All Creatures Great and Small’, Haryana The Central Government hereby nominates Shri S. P. Gupta, IAS (Retd), HR-1990 Founder Chairman, People’s Voice, Kamdhenu Gow Dham & Arogya Sansthan to be the Chairman of the Animal Welfare Board of India (relieving DGF&SS from his additional responsibilities as Chairman, AWBI) as per sub-section (3) of Section 5 of the aforesaid Act. Note : The earlier notifications regarding reconstitution of the Animal Welfare Board of India were published in the Gazette of India vide number S.O. 2005(E) dated 29.11.2007, S.O. 2981(E) dated 03.03.2017 and S.O.
