No. 11012/46/2005-Admn. ——In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 35, read with Section 9, of the National Highways Authority of India Act, 1988 (68 of 1988), the National Highways Authority of India hereby makes the following regulations further to amend the National Highways Authority of India (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Regulations, 1996, namely :— l. (I) These regulations may be called the National Highways Authority of India (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Second Amendment Regulations, 2008. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In regulation 5 ofthe National Highways Authority of India (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Regulations, 1996, afier sub-regulation (2), the following sub-regulation shall be inseited, namely :-—- “(3) Where recruitment is made by the method ofdirect recruitment through lateral entry and not through absorption, experience gained in NHAI shall be given weightage in the selection of candidates. The age limit for direct recruitment specified in column 6 of the Schedule, in the case of an officer or employee who is, or has been, on deputation to NI-IAI and applies for direct recruitment through lateral entry to a post specified in column 1 of the Schedule shall be increased by the number of years such officer or employee has served NHAI, subject to the condition that the age limit so increased shall not be more than 56 years of age as on the Ist day of January of the year in which such officer or employee is being considered for direct recruitment through lateral entry‘i Foot note : The principal regulations werepublished vide Notification No. NHAR—I 201 l/ l/95-Admn., dated the 1 Ith March, 1996, .in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part III, Section 4 and last amended vide Notification No. NHAl/ l 101 1/02/2008~Admn., dated the 2nd July, 2008, in the Gazette ofIndia, Extraordinary, Part 111, Section 4.
