Appointment of Shri Zufar Ahmad Faruqi as Chairperson of the U.P Sunni Central Waqf Board Dated- 10 March 2021

IN pursuance of the provisions of clause (3) of Atricle 348 of the Constitution of India, the Governor is pleased to order the publication of the following English translation of notification no. 574/LII-2–2021-2(255)-03T.C., dated March 10, 2021 : No. 574/LII-2–2021-2(255)-03T.C. Dated Lucknow, March 10, 2021 WHEREAS the members of the Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Board of Waqf has been appointed by the Governor vide notification no. 533/LII-2–2021-2(255)-03 T.C., dated March 6, 2021 ; AND, WHEREAS, on March 9, 2021, a meeting/sitting of the appointed members of the aforesaid Board was convened for the election of the Chairperson of the Board ; AND, WHEREAS, in the aforesaid meeting Shri Zufar Ahmad Faruqi was elected as the Chairperson of the aforesaid Board by the members thereof ; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers under clause (h) of section 3 read with section 14 of the Waqf Act, 1995, the Governor is pleased to notify Shri Zufar Ahmad Faruqi as the Chairperson of the aforesaid Board with effect from the date of publication of this notification in the Gazette.
