NOTIFICATION AADHAR (TARGETED DELIVERY OF FINANCIAL AND OTHER SuBsIDIES BENEFITS AND SERVICES) Act, 2016 No. Aadhar 2020/C.R. 62/S-1/39.— General Administration Department (Directorate of Information Technology)—Where the Government of India has, vide its Office Memorandum, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, File No. 13(4)/2020-EG-II(Vol-V), dated the 1st September 2021 conveyed the approval of the Unique Identification Authority of India to the General Administration Department, Directorate of Information Technology, Government of Maharashtra, for use of Aadhaar authentication, on voluntary basis, for identification and registration of residens in the Aaple Sarkar Portal, in terms of rule 5 of the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social, Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge) Rules, 2020 (hereinafter referred to as "the said Rules") read with sub-clause (ii) of clause (b) of sub-section (4) of section 4 of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies., Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 (18 of 2016) (hereinfater referred to as "the said Act") ; Now, therefore, in pursuance of the powers conferred by sub-clause (ii) of clause (b) of sub-section (4) of section 4 of the said Act and rule 5 of the said Rules, the Government of Maharashtra being authorised by the Government of India in this behalf, hereby notifies the General Administration Department, Directorate of Information Technology, Government of Maharashtra to perform Aadhaar Authentication on voluntary basis for eKYC services for identification and registration of residents in the Aaple Sarkar Portal registration systems.
