Amendment Notification Declaring Eco Sensitive Zone S.O. No. 107(E) around Sajjangarh wildlife Sanctuary

PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 99] NEW DELHI, TUESDAY, JANUARY 7, 2020/ PAUSHA 17, 1941 MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 6th January, 2020 S.O. 107(E).—WHEREAS by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change number S.O. 435(E), dated the 14 th February 2017 (hereinafter in this notification referred to as the said notification), the Central Government notified an Eco-Sensitive Zone (ESZ) surrounding the Sajjangarh Wildlife Sanctuary in the State of Rajasthan and imposed few restrictions in the said Zone; AND WHEREAS, pursuant to the State Government’s request seeking amendment in the said notification, vide letter dated the 13th December, 2018, the Expert Committee on ESZ recommended amendment in the notification during its 35 th meeting held on the 3 rd June 2019; AND WHEREAS, the Central Government in public interest dispenses with the requirement of notice under clause (a) of sub-rule (3) of rule 5 of the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1), clauses (v) and (xiv) of sub–section (2) and sub-section (3) of section 3 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986) read with sub-rule (4) of rule 5 of the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the said notification, namely: - In the said notification,- (i) in paragraph 1, for the words and figures “area of 28.7 square kilometers”, the words and figures “area of 29.8 square kilometers” shall be substituted; (ii) for Annexure II, the Annexure attached with this notification shall be substituted; (iii) in Annexure III, in the Table, serial numbers 17, 18, 19 and 20 shall be renumbered as serial numbers 19, 20, 21 and 22 respectively and before the serial numbers 19, 20, 21 and 22 as so renumbered, the following shall be inserted, namely:- “Sl.No. GPS Longitude Latitude 17 E16/1 73 o 39.534’ E 24 o 35.449’ E 18 E16/2 73 o 39.341’ E 24 o 35.812’ E”.
