L.-33004/99 EXTRAORDINARY PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 123] NEW DELHI, THURSDAY, JANUARY 9, 2020/ PAUSHA 19, 1941 MINISTRY OF FINANCE (Department of Revenue) (CENTRAL ECONOMIC INTELLIGENCE BUREAU) (COFEPOSA WING) ORDER New Delhi, the 9th January, 2020 S.O. 133(E).—Whereas the Joint Secretary to the Government of India, specially empowered under sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Conservation of Foreign Exchange and Prevention of Smuggling Activities Act, 1974 (52 of 1974) issued Order No. PD-12001/55/2019-COFEPOSA dated 31.10.2019 under the said sub-section directing that Shri Rahul, S/o Shri Anand Parkash, R/o (i) 43, Tajpur Village, Thajpur Khurd, Delhi-110071 (ii) Room No. 11A, Seagul Apartment, Near District Court, Convent Road, Kozhikode-673032 be detained and kept in Central Prison & Correctional Home, Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram with a view to preventing him from smuggling of goods, abetting the smuggling of goods and dealing in smuggled goods otherwise than by engaging in transporting or concealing or keeping smuggled goods in future. 2. Whereas the Central Government has reasons to believe that the aforesaid person has absconded or has been concealing himself so that the Order cannot be executed. 3. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (1) of Section 7 of the said Act, the Central Government hereby directs the aforesaid person to appear before the Director General of Police & State Police Chief, Government of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram or the Commissioner of Police, New Delhi within 7 days of the publication of this Order in the Official Gazette.
