Government Gazette, Uttar Pradesh Published By Uttar Pradesh Government Extraordinary Legislative Addendum (Executive Order) Lucknow Saturday, October 7, 1989 Ashwin 15, 1911 Shaka Samvat Uttar Pradesh Government Language Section-1 No. 4171/21-891-1980 Lucknow, October 7, 1989 Notification P.A.-1276 In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Uttar Pradesh Official Languages Act, 1951, the Governor is pleased to order that in the interest of Urdu speakers, Urdu shall be used as the second official language for the following purposes, namely- 1- Receipt of applications and petitions in Urdu and their reply in Urdu, 2- Acceptance of documents written in Urdu by the registration office, 3- Publication of important government rules, regulations and notifications in Urdu as well, 4- Publication of Government orders and circulars of public importance in Urdu also, 5- Publication of important government advertisements in Urdu also, 6- Publication of Urdu version of Gazette also, 7- Display of important signboards in Urdu.
