No. M (D)/T4S/CGD/1/2010.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 61 of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Act, 2006 (19 of 2006), the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board hereby makes the following regulations to amend the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (Technical Standards and Specifications including Safety Standards for City or Local Natural Gas Distribution Networks) Regulations, 2008, namel y:— (art it-wave 4] A Bl UIA: TATU 3 1. Short title and commencement. (1) These regulations may be called the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (Technical Standards and Specifications including Safety Standards for City or Local Natural Gas Distribution Networks} Amendment Regulations, 2014. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (Technical Standards and Specifications including Safety Standards for City or Local Natural Gas Distribution Networks) Regulations, 2008,- (A) in Schedule 1C, under heading PIPING SYSTEM COMPONENTS, in point (e), under Fittings other than Valves and Flanges, for the words beginning with “For fusion fitting upto 63 mm,,..” and ending with ~....clamp shail be used.”, the following shall be substituted, namely:- “For fusion fitting upto 63 mm, the entity may consider usage of fusion fittings with integral fixation device. However, external alignment clamp shall be used for all sizes.”; (B) in Schedule 1D, under heading STEEL PIPE, in paras 2 and 3 under Additional Requirement for Nominal Wall Thickness, for the words beginning with “In any case minimum ....” and ending with reduced to ALARP (As low as reasonably possible).”, the following shall be substituted, namely:- In any case minimum nominal thickness of pipe permitted as per this standard shalt be 6.4 mm for pipe size 4 inch nominal dia. and above, irrespective of the grade of the pipe material. ape } pipe i an 6.4 mm tar pipe size 4 inch and abuve. For both aboveground and underground pipe size less than 4 inch nominal dia., the minimum nominal thickness shall be as per table below - Identification 80 XS (C) in Schedule 1G , under the heading ODOURISATION, in para 2 for the words beginning with “A pre- determined quantity,....” and ending with “....dosed into the gas stream.”, the following shal! be substituted, namely:- “A pre-determined quantity of suitable odorant shall be dosed into the gas stream.
