Hindi in Devanagri script shall be used in respect of all the official purposes of the State.5

Uttar Pradesh Government Legislation Department No. UO 718/17 Lucknow, 30 October, 1952 Release Variety In exercise of the powers conferred by section 2 of the Uttar Pradesh Official Languages Act, 1951 (Uttar Pradesh Act No. 26 of 1951), the Governor of Uttar Pradesh is hereby appointed the 1st day of November, 1952, as the date on which Hindi in Devanagari script shall be made suitable for the following : (1) An Ordinance promulgated under article 213 of the Constitution of India and (2) Orders, rules, regulations and bye-laws promulgated by the Government of Uttar Pradesh under the Constitution of India or any law made by Parliament or the Legislature of the State.
