EXTRAORDINARY PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 418] NEW DELHI, WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 29, 2020/MAGHA 8, 1941 MINISTRY OF FINANCE (Department of Revenue) (CENTRAL ECONOMIC INTELLIGENCE BUREAU) (COFEPOSA WING) ORDER New Delhi, the 29th January, 2020 S.O. 452(E).—Whereas the Joint Secretary to the Government of India, specially empowered under sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Conservation of Foreign Exchange and Prevention of Smuggling Activities Act, 1974 (52 of 1974) issued Order No. PD-12002/23/2019-COFEPOSA dated 02.8.2019 under the said sub-section directing that Shri Beerendra Singh Yadav, S/o. Shri Ramnajar Ramnath Yadav, 257, Anil Vakil Chawl, Behand Memco Premnagar, Saaijpur Bogha, Ahmedabad- 382345 be detained and kept in Central Jail, Sabarmati, Ahmedabad with a view to prevent him from smuggling goods; abetting the smuggling of goods; and engaging in transporting or concealing or keeping smuggled goods, in future. 2. Whereas the Central Government has reasons to believe that the aforesaid person has absconded or has been concealing himself so that the said Order cannot be executed. 3. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (1) of Section 7 of the said Act, the Central Government hereby directs the aforesaid person to appear before the Commissioner of Police, Shahibaug, Ahmedabad-380004 within 7 days of the publication of this Order in the Official Gazette.
